Yeah, there’s a reason why I subconsciously didn’t want to go out last night. We hit the local bars, but discovered that in the past 10 years or so that my friends and I haven’t been barflies, no one does live music anymore. It’s all DJ’s now…which wouldn’t be bad if the music nowadays wasn’t so fucking AWFUL.
We ended up out at our old stomping grounds: a huge lake that we’ve spent many a drunken night at. Got kicked out by the cops at around 2am. So many changes to keep up with. I swear to God it was just last week that we were all in our early 20’s and knew all of the cops in town so that we didn’t get thrown out of all of our party spots. Now we’re treated like common criminals. It’s a sad state of affairs.
Anyways, we went back to D’s house and drank a toast to our to our lost but very-well-spent youth. Reminisced until sunrise. Went out for breakfast. Started feeling the first twinges of a hangover once I got food into my alcohol system, so I came home. Good times…but nothing that I plan on repeating anytime soon. I’m too old for this shit.
I managed to kill my DVD player after I woke up this afternoon. I had the urge to watch a movie and forgot that the player is tempermental. It skips and sticks when it gets too warm I think. I ripped the damn thing out of the entertainment center, tossed it in the trash, and finally hooked my computer up to the tv. The computer has a DVD player/recorder, so now I can watch movies on my TV, watch and record TV on my computer (fuck Tivo and their monthly fees) and play computer games on the TV.
How I managed to do this with the headache from Hades, I’ll never know. I’m going back to bed.
