I’ve been swamped with many things this week. Between the boys starting school, work and the start of classes for me, I’ve been right out straight. I have had time, however, to follow the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina and sent some money and good mojo to New Orleans.
I find it disturbing how much of a clusterfuck the rescue and relief efforts have been thus far. I know that everything that CAN be done, IS being done…but I somehow expected more from the richest and most powerful country on the face of the planet. I keep comparing it to the response after 9/11 and I’m fairly surprised by the incompetence that I’m seeing.
There IS one bright spot in all of this misery: news about the hurricane has finally gotten that cow, Cindy Sheehan, off my freakin tv.
