Clarification

I guess I should make a clarification on the post underneath this one. I totally understand that, in extreme emergency situations, parents and children can’t always be kept together. If I were in the same situation, I’d send my kids ahead without a second thought. My point was that there has got to be a better way to keep track of people that are being evacuated so that families can be reunited as soon as possible.

I can see no reason why FEMA or the Red Cross or someone couldn’t set up ONE spot where children who have been separated from their parents would be sent to. You can bet that if I stepped off a rescue boat or helicopter, asked where my children were sent to and recieved “I don’t know” for a response, I’d be kicking ass and taking names.

Over the past few days, I’ve read and listened to the ‘blame game’ and the race cards being played left and right. I’m hearing absolutely nothing about how to prevent this kind of chaos in the first place.
