The Carnival of the Blogfaddah has been a wonderful success. I’m allowing that original post to drop down the page but I’ll still be adding to the links as I recieve them, so feel free to continue to send them in. My deepest and most profound thank you to all who participated and/or spread the word. Plans are under way to continue the Carnival, in Rob’s memory, and details will be available after I’ve had a chance to catch my breath.
The Online Memorial was also a resounding success and I would like to thank everyone who participated in the comments, trackbacks and chat. The chatroom is now a permanent thing, so everyone is welcome to come in and meet their fellow bloggers. Details and instructions are posted here.
On a more personal note, I have fallen so much more deeply in love with the blogging community after seeing the outpouring of goodwill towards a man who meant more to me than I even realized til this week. I was truly STUNNED while watching Rob’s comments fill up with messages for his family and testaments to what he meant to each of us. Say what you want about the backstabbing and drama out there in blogland, but those comments are PROOF that the good far outweighs the bad. Yes, life will go on and I’m sure that the peace will be short-lived…but that’s okay. Rob wouldn’t have it any other way.
There’s no way I could thank everyone who offered me a kind or encouraging word this week, or offered help with Gut Rumbles or the Carnival. But I do want to publicly thank two wonderful men who kept me sane this week: Paul, for keeping his promise to Rob and almost instinctively knowing that I NEEDED to do something and Catfish, for making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry.
